Sharp Wins Gold for 2006 California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE)

Sharp HealthCare was named a Gold-level award recipient by the California Council for Excellence (CCE) for the 2006 California Awards for Performance Excellence (CAPE) program. CAPE is the state-level affiliate of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Sharp also applied this year for the National Baldrige Award, and was one of only 15 companies — out of 76 applicants — to earn a site visit.

This is the third year in a row that Sharp was recognized by CAPE for its leadership, strategic planning, employee engagement and business results. Sharp was named a Bronze-level award recipient in 2004, its first year in the program, and Sharp was named a Silver-level recipient in 2005.

The CAPE Award program, which complements the Malcolm Baldrige National Award, recognizes companies and organizations that demonstrate continuous improvement and superior performance in several key business areas including leadership, customer focus, strategic planning, human resources and business results.
